<description>First and only pumpkin drawing of the season. Additionally, more lineless practice.
I did two different pumpkin-related drawings last year, but this year I&apos;m only going to be able to do just this one. Not really a big deal because personally I really enjoy this one.

I planned on drawing this around the 27th, followed the 28th, but finally just decided to do it tonight instead.

<description>a visual representation of me 2 hours earlier prior to sharing (11:15 pm CT). i (and likely many others on the same ISP) was having extremely slow internet speeds, both download and upload (the former being worst most of the time) speeds would not get past the low-to-mid single digits. it was extremely frustrating.
...at least if you were trying to stream something, or someone who spends every waking day on the internet.
it was fixed a few hours afterward, with some jankiness remaining throughout the night.

<description>The unfortunate side effects of using current versions of Microsoft Windows. An end-user&apos;s worst nightmare, one might say.
I&apos;m honestly a bit glad this newer computer I&apos;ve been using since like, 2024, has not yelled at me once to lock in and perform an update immediately, unlike some of my experiences with Windows 10 (even 8.1).
It&apos;s either that or my machine is not functioning properly, in which case I would much prefer it like this rather than force upgrading my damn computer when I&apos;m not looking at it.

				<title>The Kid</title>

				<link>http://park-city.club/~frix/portfolio/artathon/2025/10/04.html</link>

<description>First seasonal fan art. This one features the main protagonist from the overtly difficult I Wanna Be The Guy: The Movie: The Game. Previously a game that I&apos;ve only ever heard about in passing (such as references to it) until sometime recently.
There were a few other ideas I had in mind for this, including putting the game&apos;s title somewhere in the drawing, but eventually I decided whatever I was trying to go for here was good enough.
If this is your first time hearing about it, go check it out for yourself. Either by playing the original 2007 game or the official 2024 remaster made in GM8.2. Additionally, if the game seems too difficult (depending on who you might be), you can also find gameplay of it scattered all over the web.

<description>I&apos;ve seen a ton of people draw witches on my feeds, so here&apos;s my own contribution featuring a character of my own.
I couldn&apos;t really think of a good pose to draw at the time, so I just did the Classic “3/4 Standing” pose I almost always draw. I seriously need to get back into drawing more dynamic poses... or not.

I&apos;ll probably sprinkle some digitial art throughout just to change things up. I&apos;m still not sure if I&apos;m going to do any based on prompts this year though. (Last year I basically just did whatever.)

				<link>http://park-city.club/~frix/portfolio/artathon/2025/10/</link>

<description>We&apos;re doing this again, with a few minor changes.
Like with the previous year, one drawing, every day, until the end of October. I insisted on doing some digital art throughout, however I did not get to do any in time.
Some works were executed similarly to the previous one, such as the 20th day being done with only pencils.
In comparison, I also did very little wallpaper-related pieces, more character drawings (especially of other people&apos;s characters) and I also started drawing in color at a much earlier date.

<description>finally, we end off on three different characters, the most I&apos;ve done this year.
leading into completion, i was getting extremely worried that I wouldn&apos;t have the time to complete this one, especially given how the event was set to end at 12:00 PM ET.
fortunately i was able to get in just enough time to complete it, though as a result it ended up getting completed on the same day it was set to end, just hours in advance. a good save if you ask me...

				<title>Sadie and Snailzii</title>

				<link>http://park-city.club/~frix/portfolio/artathon/2025/07/18.html</link>

<description>back to 2D, but this time with (limited) animation!
wanted to try and emulate “squigglevision” (signature style of animation used in dr. katz professional therapist and the first season of home movies) for at least one of these, and decided to do it on this one.
the colors used were sampled from the default Autodesk Animator Pro palette, which was reportedly the piece of software this animation technique was done with (according to commentaries on the home movies S1 DVD set) and I used CLIP STUDIO PAINT with a brush with anti-aliasing disabled.
the “squiggling” was achieved by splitting the layers into individiual files, cleaning them up in Photoshop, then applying the “Turbulence Noise” (or whatever it&apos;s called, I forgot) visual effect in After Effects (with the affected layer set to “Draft” to prevent anti-aliasing.)
i rendered them out to individual frames and finally turned them into a looping GIF, as seen here.

<description>this particular drawing is based off of–you might have guessed it–another company logo! and much like the one i did earlier in the month, it&apos;s another that some have viewed as scary. (maybe you&apos;re still scared by it, in response i deeply apologize that i had to remind you of it.)
chances are you might have seen this creature at the end of a variety of nicktoons, or maybe discovered the enormous amounts of audiovisual effects people have put over this studio&apos;s vanity card, or something along those lines..
regardless of how one might view it, i still find this logo to be pretty fascinating, reportedly a metaphor for the animation studio&apos;s rise from their beginnings, and was later made into a character of it&apos;s own sometime in 2012. something to think about!

				<link>http://park-city.club/~frix/portfolio/artathon/2024/10/19.html</link>

<description>i kept holding it off long enough, so now i&apos;ve finally decided to bite: my first colored pencil doodle of the month.
i thought about doing it lineless but i didn&apos;t like how it was turning out (as seems per usual with previous entries, ouch..) so i eventually decided to just outline it.
i might consider some more colored stuff later in the month. we&apos;ll just have to wait n see.

<description>drawing of a very specific photo of a spoon from the 2003 film “the room”. as i gave it a watch (for the very first time, might i add) recently. (and by recently i mean tonight, prior to posting this.)
yes, it really inspired me to draw this. what more can i say?

				<link>http://park-city.club/~frix/portfolio/artathon/2024/10/16.html</link>

<description>it&apos;s a shaded 3D cube... and not much more to really say.
this is also the first thing you might see if you opened blender for the first time, which is what this is based off of.
there&apos;s not really that much shading involved with my work as of recent, so i tried to add some variety to it here.

				<link>http://park-city.club/~frix/portfolio/artathon/2024/10/15.html</link>

<description>She&apos;s back, and drawn on lineless paper.
I was getting a bit tired of drawing on lined paper, so I switched to my sketchbook for the rest of the month.
(also, I drew the hair slightly different this time around.)

				<link>http://park-city.club/~frix/portfolio/artathon/2024/10/12.html</link>

<description>Two Alexa drawings in one week? It&apos;s more likely than you think.
Similar to the previous drawing, I modeled a slightly better approximation of her in Blender and used it for reference. Unlike the previous attempt, I made it a bit more detailed.
Shading is a bit rough, but honestly I feel like I might be getting better at this... emphasis on “might.”

				<title>another crossed arm drawing attempt</title>

				<link>http://park-city.club/~frix/portfolio/artathon/2024/10/11.html</link>

<description>Here&apos;s another attempt at drawing crossed arms as I didn&apos;t really like how the previous day&apos;s turned out. This time I drew just Alexa.
Rather than try to wing it like yesterday&apos;s drawing, I modeled a rough approximation of the body in Blender and used that for reference. One of these days I really ought to make a proper model sheet of these characters...

				<link>http://park-city.club/~frix/portfolio/artathon/2024/10/10.html</link>

<description>Another drawing of two of my characters. One I drew previously and one I also haven&apos;t drawn in a good while.
I need to figure out how to do crossed arms better. I&apos;ve been struggling trying to draw them for a while. Sometimes I&apos;ll get it right (or at least what my mind conceives as “proper”) but most times I&apos;ll forget about it and mess it up the next time.
I also could&apos;ve probably done much better on the shading, but it&apos;s what I could do in due time.

I don&apos;t really like how the mouth turned out in this one, however so was every other attempt, so I gave it my best. pls cut me some slack.

<description>A comic featuring characters/instruments from a set of popular and ambitiously animated music videos from the 2000s.
I apologize for the vagueness on this one. I was truely at a loss for words.
In other news, I got this done much earlier than the previous four, all of which were completed literally minutes before the next day happened.
(in case you haven&apos;t figured it out already, this is a parody of the infamous “Loss” comic from Ctrl+Alt+Del.)

This isn&apos;t the only time I&apos;ve drawn it, as I also did a drawing about a month ago part of a large Drawpile session. I also made a 3D model a few years ago however have not posted it to my website yet (not counting the one from the Windows 95 piece I did around the same time).

On an unrelated note, this was completed right before it hit the third in my time zone. This October thing is really going well... /sarcasm
