the triple team threat Jun 28, 26

It's that time of year again!

Last year, I participated in my first ever Art Fight. An event dedicated to drawing another person's original characters on an opposing team, or someone on your own if you'd like. I had a lot of fun, so it would make some sense to try again this year.

Both early sign ups and the reveal of this year's theme occurred on June 14 (when I began writing this blog post) and interestingly they really decided to change things up: Three teams! All previous years involved two different teams, and I guess this year they decided to toss another one into the mix. (per the reveal announcement, it's being done in celebration of their 10th anniversary. Kudos to them.)

Speaking of changing things around, I also decided to do some of my own: For one, I've seen a few other folk design their own ID cards (read: description of who and what you plan on attacking/drawing alongside five selected characters) so I decided to make one of my own, too:

PajamaFrix Art Fight card for July 2026 (loosely themed after Comedy Central branding.)

As you can also see, two more characters have been added to my lineup, both characters from my web comic that's still being actively (and privately) developed (and the same one Phoebe came from.) It also meant I had to go out of my way and make some new reference sheets for (and yes, they've been added to the Characters page.)

Like what I did with last year's event, I will not be sharing the ones in the art-a-thon gallery until after the event is over on August 1. In the meantime, you can find them publicly on my social media pages or under “Attacks” on my Art Fight profile.

Until then, I guess I'll see you in battle.
